Search It

This was an interesting assignment. I haven't seen pages like that in a a long time. The html looks so familiar to the 1980 - 1990 eye. I remember when all web pages didn't have that slick glossy look that today's engines do. I hadn't thought of it in a while but the Google engine is a bout all I use.
So here goes...

duckduckgo.com

The search engine did a good job of giving me what I wanted. I found the features to be simple and easy to use. It had an updated look compared to some of the others.

Mama was the next one I tried. This didn't work quite the way I supposed it would. I think the site made me want Google more than anything else.

The digital librarian made me wonder. The search bar was from amazon and I did try my search anyway but wasn't surprised when it came back with items from amazon. I did click into some of the subjects and if you find something that interests you you click on that deeper into the web page. Not as effective as I had imagined

  1. Hi, Cathy:

Thank you for your report, I was hoping for a bit more on the search features and options available. Subject Directories, including digital librarian, are more for browsing instead of specific searching. It could be a good place for background information but it is more browse oriented then search.

    Cheers,
    Andrea
